One of the most famous big surf championships in the world, Eddie Aikau will take place on Wednesday, February 10th, in Hawaii. The organizers of the event, sponsored by Quiksilver, confirmed that the conditions should be aligned with the requirements for the event, with  waves up to 40 feet in Waimea Bay.

The championships, known as “Eddie would go”, is held in tribute to Eddie Akau, one of the most respected lifeguards in Hawaii, who bravely died at sea.

The last time the championship happened was in 2009, so be sure to follow this year’s edition. Hawaii Eco Divers will keep track of everything! Check out more info about it on our Facebook page, our Instagram @hawaiiecodivers and here on our blog. Aloha!
