West Oahu Tour at Electric Beach

Despite what many people believe, scuba diving isn’t difficult. You don’t need to be an Olympic athlete to do it. People in every type of physical shape can successfully scuba dive.

Nor is scuba diving dangerous. At least not if you know what you are doing and follow basic safety guidelines.

Oahu Scuba Diving — Plan for Success

For example, successful scuba dive outings have a plan in place before heading out into open water. Participants will receive basic dive instruction, including underwater and surface communications, diver assistance, and recommended diving practices such as safety stops.

You also will learn how to dive from boats, as well as local dive regulations and protocols.

Once you learn the basics of scuba diving from a trained professional, such as those at Hawaii Eco Divers, it can make scuba diving much less intimidating and much more safe … not mention fun!

Oahu Scuba Diving — Learning the Essentials

For beginner divers, it’s possible to learn everything you need to know to scuba dive safely in a single afternoon training session. While there may be a lot of material to cover, when you learn it in an environment that is friendly and helpful it’s much easier to retain it.

For example, new divers will learn about dive system assembly and disassembly, how to inspect equipment before going into the water, and how to use proper weights to assist in dives.

You also will learn mouthpiece clearing for both snorkels and regulators, how to control your ascents and descents, and techniques for effective underwater swimming.

You also are never left on your own to figure things out for yourself. Instead, you will receive professional, competent instruction from experienced dive trainers.

While there’s a lot to learn about scuba diving, most people can get the basics in a relatively short period of time so they can get in the water safely faster.
